Food
The preferred food choice of the Polar Bear is ringed seal, they use their huge paws to smash through the ice into the sea below to snatch a seal, they also wait by ice holes until a seal comes past. Often they also chase the seals through the water. But when there are no seals around, Polar Bears tend to have a varied diet, they feed on fish (including starfish and crabs), bird eggs, sea birds, algae, mushrooms and sometimes some Arctic grass. Polar Bears have also been known to scavenge for food, often picking meat off the bones of whales.
In the Sahara Desert there are most certainly no seals, like Polar Bears seals are adapted to icy conditions and have a thick layer of blubber to keep them warm. The Sahara does have sea coasts but it is not certain that the Polar Bear would catch fish in the water or that he would even still be living if he reached the sea again. It would be most likely that the Polar Bear would have to try and feed on the many lizards and perhaps camels in the desert. But the lizards are small and have tough scales, they also hide under rocks and in holes in the ground to escape predators. As for the camels, they are big and strong and could probably kick and hurt a weak Polar Bear. Camels are often ridden so the people on board would do what they could to shoo off the bear.
If the Polar Bears were to find a meal in the desert the sudden change of diet could potentially make them very ill.
